This Sunday afternoon's 3pm game in Belfast between the Down East Auto Parts Sabres and South Side MacDonald's Excavation / EF MacPhee Lynx will be a fundraiser for one of the Belfast minor hockey boys, Callum Thomson, who was diagnosed on New Year's Eve with leukemia.
Callum is the oldest of three kids of Brian & Kyla Thomson of Belfast and this year Cal played with the Kings County Novice team. He has started treatment and will be in Halifax at the IWK for 7-9 months. The Sabres have announced that they will be donating a portion of their proceeds from Sunday's game to Cal and his family, and selling hats for $10 with the Sabres' logo on the front and the caption "GoCalGo" on the back. The Belfast Novice A team (Cal's classmates and hockey friends) are booked to go on the ice between the first and second period for a 5-minute scrimmage.
The Sabres would love for as much support as possible for this great cause.
