Bio on "Hippie" MacDougall |

Dave "Hippie" MacDougall has a long history of involvement in sports as a player and coach. Here are some highlights:

Played hockey for West Kent, Queen Charlotte and Colonel Gray High Schools

As a midget hockey player he represented PEI in the 1977 National Midget Hockey Championships of Canada in Moncton, NB.

Attended a select Baseball Canada camp in his youth in British Columbia
-
Also played for the DB&J Eagles
-
Attended Canada Games numerous times in both Hockey and Baseball as coach and as a athlete in Manitoba , Quebec, Newfoundland and Ontario.

As a player and coach he represented the island well over 25 times at National Baseball Championships at all levels from Pee-Wee to Junior and select teams.

Played baseball on championship teams for the Charlottetown Regal Oilers, Ft Augustus Braves and Morell in the Island Senior Baseball leagues.

As a hockey coach he coached numerous minor hockey teams in the Pownal and North River areas.

In his spare time he would coach his daughter Erinn’s Junior Curling team and fastball teams at the Eastern Canadians.

More recently he had devoted time in developing young arms in Mosquito baseball coaching the Cornwall Cougars AAA baseball team.
Be sure to come out to the Pownal Sports Centre on Tuesday night, February 3rd to show your support for Hippie at the Razzy's Junior C All-Star Game when a team of league all-stars take on a team of alumni all-stars. There will be a silent auction and all kinds of other activities.
