OFFENSIVE Player of the Week: BRECHAN MacLEAN - Metros 
 
The Metros affiliate player was a big boost for the team.  He helped the Metros tie the series finale.  He had a goal in each game, and in game three he tied it up leading to a Metros win and then scored the winner in game four.  He played on the top line replacing the injured Brodie MacArthur.

DEFENSIVE Player of the Week: BLAKE ARSENAULT - Metros 
 
Blake was key for the Metros in two big wins.  He stopped Brandon Adams' penalty shot in game three which would've given the South Side MacDonald's Excavation / EF MacPhee Lynx the lead.  In game four he stopped 20 of 21 third-period shots.

MARCH 8th - 14th, 2017

OFFENSIVE Player of the Week: BRADY VANDERVELDEN - Lynx 
 
Brady exploded for three goals and an assist in leading the South Side MacDonald's Excavation / EF MacPhee Lynx to a game one victory in the finals. In game two he snapped home the first and eventual game winning goal. Brady was a physical force in both games. Along with Colton Dawson, VanderVelden continues to be a dynamic leader for the Lynx.

DEFENSIVE Player of the Week: IVAN MacPHAIL - Lynx 
 
Ivan has been a superb defenseman for the Lynx over his four year career. Ivan consistently makes a great first pass to get the puck out of the Lynx end quickly. He was strong in all situations helping the Lynx defeat the Metros twice in the finals.

MARCH 1st - 7th, 2017

OFFENSIVE Player of the Week: ZACH MacDONALD - Metros 
 
Zach has been one of the Metros' best players in the Belfast series.  In game four and five he was instrumental in winning those games' key face-offs, playing on the power-play, killing penalties and playing strong defense in critical situations.  He also contributed on the scoreboard with two goals and an assist..

DEFENSIVE Player of the Week: DYLAN MacDONALD - Metros
 
Dylan played a lot of minutes in game four and five for the Metros.  He played 25-30 minutes in each game to help defensively and helped offensively as well with four assists.  In game five, he assisted on all three goals including the series winner.  He is the top point-scorer for the Metros in the playoffs.

FEBRUARY 22nd - 28th, 2017

OFFENSIVE Player of the Week: OWEN ARSENAULT - Metros 
 
Owen came up big in the first period of both of the Metros victories this week over the Sabres which enabled them to erase a 1-0 series deficit and take the lead in the series.  Owen scored two in the first period of game one and another in the first period of game two to kickstart the offence.

DEFENSIVE Player of the Week: JARRETT MULLIGAN - Lynx
 
Jarrett led the South Side MacDonald's Excavation / EF MacPhee Lynx defense in shutting down the Flames offense in game one. Time and time again he made the quick and easy first pass out of the Lynx end to ignite the offence. Jarrett played heavy minutes in all situations, including on the power-play and penalty kill..

FEBRUARY 15th - 21st, 2017

OFFENSIVE Player of the Week: CONNOR ANDREWS - Flames 
 
Connor recorded a hat trick and added an assist in the first period of game four to lead the Flames past the Tignish Perry's Construction Aces and complete the series victory.  The Flames' rookie lead the team in scoring with 30 points in 21 games and has six points through his first four playoff games.

DEFENSIVE Player of the Week: BRADY McQUAID- Flames
 
Brady played an exceptional two-way game in games three and four in particular to help shut down the Aces big guns allowing the Flames to complete the series victory. He was instrumental in game four as he was key to killing off time as the short-staffed Flames escaped with the victory.

FEBRUARY 8th - 14th, 2017

OFFENSIVE Player of the Week: TANNER NICHOLSON - Sabres 
 
Tanner was the most effective Sabre in the opening two wins for Belfast in their series against the Summerside Cover All Construction Crunch.  He had a four-point night in game one and a five-point night in game two, which included a hat-trick.

DEFENSIVE Player of the Week: ALEX SMITH - Flames
 
Alex shut the door in the third period of game one against the Tignish Perry's Construction Aces and enabled the Flames to pull ahead and take the opening game of their series.  The win came despite the Aces playing their best hockey of the season after winning their final three regular season games convincingly, including a 5-0 win versus North River.

FEBRUARY 1st - 7th, 2017

OFFENSIVE Player of the Week: JAKE ARSENAULT - Metros 
 
Jake had a big 5-point weekend to takeover and win the scoring title for the 2016-17 season with 26G and 25A for 54 points.  He was key in the Metros' five wins to finish the season that earned them a first-round bye in the playoffs.

DEFENSIVE Player of the Week: SPENCER ROSS - Sabres
 
Spencer has been a key leader on the blueline for the Sabres all season and he showed it in the teams 1-1 weekend to close the regular season.  The overage player was among the league leaders in scoring for defenseman and maintained a point-per-game average offensively.

JANUARY 25th - 31st, 2017

OFFENSIVE Player of the Week: BRAYDEN ARSENAULT - Aces 
 
Brayden had a terrific week scoring eight points as the Tignish Perry's Construction Aces closed out their regular season with three convincing victories.  This week's games stretched his point-scoring streak to seven games.  Brayden is in his first year in the league and finished second on the team in points with 38.

DEFENSIVE Player of the Week: JAMES DUFFY - Metros 
 
James Duffy had a great game against the first place team in the league, the South Side MacDonald's Excavation / EF MacPhee Lynx. The Lynx only had four losses this year and were never shut out before James shut them out in the Metros' 6-0 victory.  He stopped all 34 shots from some of the top scorers in the league. James came up big in the second period facing 19 shots and killing two power plays. James is one of two goalies with two shut outs this season.

JANUARY 18th - 24th, 2017

OFFENSIVE Player of the Week: ZAC MELLA - Metros 
 
The Sherwood Metros team captain has played more of a defensive role for most of the year. He has taken the role of killing penalties and even playing defense. But for the last three games this week, Zac has help offensively by scoring four goals. He was a key player in the last two games against the top two teams where the Metros earned three out of a possible four points. Zac is in his fourth year with the Metros and is a great team captain and leader.

DEFENSIVE Player of the Week: CONNOR CAMPBELL - Flames
 
Connor made a big impact in his second game back after being injured in November.  The Flames rookie picked up his fourth win of the season with a nail-biter 3-2 overtime win and stopped 29 of 31 shots in the contest.

JANUARY 11th - 17th, 2017

OFFENSIVE Player of the Week: ROBERT HICKEN - Sabres 
 
Robert had a huge game, picking up five points in a 9-4 home win for the Sabres against the Summerside Cover All Construction Crunch.  Robert's big night brought him to within one point of his total from last season as the Sabres push for another long playoff run.

DEFENSIVE Player of the Week: SEAN MacPHEE - Lynx
 
Sean backstopped the South Side MacDonald's Excavation / EF MacPhee Lynx to their 17th win of the season on Monday night in Sherwood.  He made 40 saves through regulation and the overtime and then stopped all five of the Metros' shots in the shootout to earn the 2-1 win.

JANUARY 4th - 10th, 2017

OFFENSIVE Player of the Week: WILL TUPLIN - Aces
 
The Tignish Perry's Construction Aces lost all three games this week, but Will's play certainly kept them all close.  He recorded hat-tricks in two of his games as he put up seven goals this week.  Will is a rookie and the leading scorer for the Aces with 32 points in 19 games played.

DEFENSIVE Player of the Week: ALEX SMITH - Flames
 
Alex had a remarkable start against the league-leading South Side MacDonald's Excavation / EF MacPhee Lynx, stopping 50 shots en route to a big win for the North River Flames.  He has dominated the league's goaltending stats this year and holds a GAA of just 2.38, which is almost a full goal lower than the next starter.

DECEMBER 28th, 2016 - JANUARY 3rd, 2017

OFFENSIVE Player of the Week: TANNER JAMIESON - Crunch
 
Albeit in a losing effort, Tanner Jamieson put up five points for the Summerside Cover All Construction Crunch in a game against the first-place South Side MacDonald's Excavation / EF MacPhee Lynx on Friday night.  The Crunch leading scorer had a hat-trick and added two helpers to bring his point total to 19 in just 12 games played.  He's picked up eight points in his last two games.

DEFENSIVE Player of the Week: JAMES DUFFY - Metros
 
The Sherwood Metros were looking for a big win against the North River Flames. Metros goaltender, James Duffy came up with a big game for the win. James made some great saves, especially in the second period where the game was very close at 2-1. James had to come up big otherwise the Flames would have taken the lead.  North River had four great chances to score but James shut the door and eventually went on to win 6-2.

DECEMBER 14th - 20th, 2016

OFFENSIVE Player of the Week: CURKLAN FRASER - Aces

Curklan has made a sudden impact playing in his first two games over the weekend with the Tignish Perry's Construction Aces and in doing so he recorded six points in a 9-3 victory over Summerside Cover All Construction Crunch and two goals in an 11-7 victory over Belfast for an 8-point weekend..

DEFENSIVE Player of the Week: KURTIS GREEN - Flames
 
Kurtis is a rookie defenseman with the Flames. He scored a big goal in Saturday's win over Southside MacDonald's Excavation / EF MacPhee Lynx to give the Flames a lead in the 3rd period. Against Sherwood, he scored the winning goal late in the game giving the Flames a big weekend sweep against the league leaders.

DECEMBER 7th - 13th, 2016

OFFENSIVE Player of the Week: BRAYDEN ARSENAULT - Aces

Brayden is a first-year junior player who is having a great year for the Tignish Perry's Construction Aces.  He is among the team's top goal-scorers and led the team with four goals in their recent 8-6 victory over Sherwood after picking up another four points in a road loss at Morell on Friday night.

DEFENSIVE Player of the Week: COLBY LANDRIGAN - Sabres
 
Colby stopped all 36 shots for the shutout on Friday night at home in the Sabres' only game this week.  He has been among the goaltending leaders in the league this year with a GAA of less than three..

OFFENSIVE Player of the Week: GARRETT MURRAY - Lynx

Garrett recorded eight points over the weekend.  On Friday night he had two goals and three assists  in Morell and he was back at it again Saturday when he chipped in with three points in a 4-0 win over the Tignish Perry's Construction Aces.  The MacDonald's Excavation / EF MacPhee Lynx did not allow a goal over both of their games this weekend.

DEFENSIVE Player of the Week: ALEX SMITH - Flames
 
The league's leading goaltender recorded his first shutout on Saturday night in a 6-0 win over Summerside.  Alex is still undefeated with a 5-0 record and has only given up 8 goals in those five games.

OFFENSIVE Player of the Week: LOGAN TOOLE - Metros

The Metros had a successful week with two wins thanks to the help of their latest acquisition.  In the first win, against Morell Credit Union Flyers, Logan had two goals and an assist and followed it up with a hat-trick on Monday night over the Summerside Cover All Construction Crunch.  He's a great offensive boost for the Metros.

Sean helped the league-leading South Side MacDonald's Excavation / EF MacPhee Lynx to two big wins this weekend.  He held the rival Belfast Sabres to just one goal in a big road win on Friday night and allowed just two in a triumph over North River the following night at home.

OFFENSIVE Player of the Week: BRADY VANDERVELDEN - Lynx

The elder Vandervelden brother provided plenty of offence in two big wins for the South Side MacDonald's Excavation / EF MacPhee Lynx. He continued his torrid pace with six points in two games and is tied for the league lead in points (23).

Kristen shut down one of the league's best offences turning aside 39 shots en route to a big 4-1 win for the Tignish Perry's Construction Aces over visiting North River on Sunday.  The Flames were coming off a 13-goal performance the night before but could only beat Clemens once.

OFFENSIVE Player of the Week: CJ McCARDLE - Lynx

CJ McCardle was a driving force for a surging MacDonald's Excavation / EF MacPhee Lynx team's four-point weekend.  The rookie winger exploded offensively with a four-goal effort against Morell, and another two in a win against the Tignish Perry's Construction Aces.  He finished the weekend with nine points in two games.

DEFENSIVE Player of the Week: COLIN GAUDETTE - Aces
 
The affiliate player from the Western Regals of the Midget AAA league stepped up big and helped the Aces to a thrilling 3-2 overtime victory on Monday night on the road against the Sherwood Metros.

OFFENSIVE Player of the Week: JAKE ARSENAULT - Metros

Jake helped the Metros win both of their games. Against Belfast he had a goal and an assist for a 7-5 win. Against the Summerside Cover All Construction Crunch Jake exploded with five goals for the 7-2 victory. Jake is presently leading the league in goals with 11. The Metros are looking to Jake to take a leadership role this year.

For the second straight week a Belfast rookie goaltender lead the way between the pipes to win the defensive award.  This week, Jed Walsh stopped 36 shots as the Sabres handed the first-place North River Flames their first regulation loss.

OFFENSIVE Player of the Week: MATT CRAIG - Flames

After starting the season slow with no points in his first three games. Matt broke out with five points in Summerside Friday and followed it up with five more at home Saturday against Morell Credit Union Flyers.

The Sabres' rookie goaltender bounced back from an loss against South Side in his first game with a solid 33-save win on the road in Morell on Friday night.  Colby comes in to the league after an Island Championship season with the Pownal Red Devils of the PEI Midget AAA league.

OCTOBER 19 - 25th, 2016

OFFENSIVE Player of the Week: EVAN FEEHAN - Metros

One of the Metros' new players played two strong games on the weekend. He tallied six points in the Metros loss to the North River Flames and the win against the Tignish Perry's Construction Aces. Evan is a great addition to the Metros attack and leads in the team in scoring with nine points in three games played.

OCTOBER 12 - 18TH, 2016

OFFENSIVE Player of the Week: GARRETT MURRAY - Lynx

Garrett led the way for the South Side MacDonald's Excavation / EF MacPhee Lynx' opening game victory after going down 3-0 early to the Belfast Sabres. The Lynx' rookie was involved in six of the seven Lynx goals, recording two goals and four assists.
