#26 JAKE GETSON - Aces

Jake Getson recorded a hat-trick while pushing the Tignish Perry's Construction Aces past the Sherwood Metros for the Aces first win since November 6th to turn things around. Jake is in his first year of junior after playing for the midget "AAA" Regals.

Defensive Player of the Week
#31 AVERY ARSENAULT (G) - Aces

 

Avery pulled out a big road victory for the Aces on Monday night over the Metros to hault the Aces losing streak.  He also appeared in relief on Sunday night's loss to Belfast.  In his rookie season with the Aces he is getting lots of ice time, appearing in eight games so far.

December 2nd - 8th, 2015

Offensive Player of the Week
#8 RYAN BECKINGHAM (F) - Lynx

Ryan more than doubled his points total for the year in one game as he was in on four of the team's seven goals in a big 7-4 win for the South Side MacDonald's Excavation / EF MacPhee Lynx over the Sherwood Metros on Monday night.  Ryan is in his second full season with the Lynx.

Defensive Player of the Week
#13 ZAC MELLA (F) - Metros

 

Zac Mella plays centre for the Sherwood Metros but for this weekend's two games Zac had to play defense due to three regular defense being out with injuries.  He played two strong games and helped the team with a win on Saturday night against North River, scoring the first goal in a 3-2 OT win. On Monday even though the Metros lost, Zac had another strong game chirpping in with an assist.

#10 MICHAEL McQUILLAN (F) - Sabres

Michael has produced offensively with points in each of his last four games, but a big 4-point night against the Tignish Perry's Construction Aces highlighted his weekend offensively.  The overage player for the Belfast Down East Auto Parts Sabres is only two points shy of matching his highest scoring season at only the mid-point of the schedule.

#1 SEAN MacPHEE (G) - Sabres

 

Sean rebounded well from a loss in Morell on Friday night with a 25-save shutout against the Sherwood Metros at home on Saturday night.  He is the only goaltender to have two shutouts and leads the league in minutes played.

#77 CURTIS MARTELL - Sabres

Curtis scored the Belfast Down East Auto Parts Sabres opening goal in a win over Morell and then scored two, including the game winner in a big victory over the second-place North River Flames.  Curtis is in his first year in Junior C after playing the last two seasons in the IJHL.  He's put up 13 points in his first 11 games.

Defensive Player of the Week
#29 NOLAN COMPTON (G) - Sabres

Nolan put up two solid wins on the weekend to extend the Sabres' lead on top of the standings.  Nolan has a 4-1 record, with his only loss being a 1-0 defeat against Tignish.

November 11th - 17th, 2015

Offensive Player of the Week
#16 MATT MacKINNON (F) - Flyers

Matt had a breakout week this week as he scored five of the Flyers' seven goals, including a four-goal night which gave the team its first win of the season when they edged the North River Flames on Saturday night.  The loss was the first of the year for the Flames.  Matt leads the league in goals with eight.

Defensive Player of the Week
#1 BLAKE ARSENAULT (G) - Metros

 

Blake Arsenault had two very strong games in goal for the Sherwood Metros this week. First game against Morell Flyers was a 4-1 victory on Friday night, while on Monday against the North River Flames he took the loss in a very tight 1-0 game. Blake has the best save percentage in the league at .957% and the best goals against average at 1.25.

November 4th - 10th, 2015

Offensive Player of the Week
#16 JOSH NELSON - Lynx

Josh had a huge second period as the South Side MacDonald's Excavation / EF MacPhee Lynx pulled ahead for good in their win this week over the Morell Flyers.  Josh scored and then set up two including the eventual winner, all in the middle frame.  Josh is a rookie to the league and is making an impact early with six points in his first four games..

Defensive Player of the Week
#33 BEN LADNER (G) - Sabres

 

Ben stopped all 33 shots in regulation and overtime and then turned aside all three of the Sherwood Metros shooters in a dramatic 1-0 shootout win in the Belfast Down East Auto Parts Sabres home opener this weekend.  He also had a solid outing against North River, despite recording a loss.

October 28th - November 3rd, 2015

Offensive Player of the Week
#12 JOSH SCOTT - Metros

Josh Scott played a strong game for the Metros this week, collecting two goals and two assists in a 7-2 victory over league champion, South Side MacDonald's Excavation / EF MacPhee Lynx.  Josh was playing in his second game in the league after playing last season with Holland College of the IJHL, and has adjusted well. The Metros expect a big year from Josh.

Defensive Player of the Week
#33 KRISTEN CLEMENTS (G) - Aces

 

Kristen got the Tignish Perry's Construction Aces into the win column in an emphatic way with a 28-save, 1-0 shutout against the Belfast Down East Auto Parts Sabres.  It was the league's first 1-0 game since December of 2013, when the Aces edged North River.

October 21st - 27th, 2015

Offensive Player of the Week
#19 BRADY VANDERVELDEN (F) - Lynx

Brady was more than dominant over the weekend with 11 points in two games in a pair of wins for the defending league champions.  His three points in the pivotal third period were key in the South Side MacDonald's Excavation / EF MacPhee Lynx' road win in Morell on Friday night.

Defensive Player of the Week
#29 TY BARLOW (G) - Flames

 

Ty stopped 35 shots in Tignish on Sunday evening for the North River Flames' third straight win to begin the season.  He lead the league in minutes played last season and is a part of a strong goaltending tandem with rookie Alex Smith.

October 14th - 20th, 2015

Offensive Player of the Week
#4 BRODIE MacARTHUR (F) - Metros

Brodie MacArthur of the new look Sherwood Metros had a great start to the 2015-16 season. In the Metros first game, a 3-2 lost to the Flames, Brodie was in on both goals for the Metros. As for the home opener, a 12-3 win over the Hawks, Brodie was in on 4 goals. Brodie came out of the opening week at the top of league scoring.

Defensive Player of the Week
#2 JARRETT MULLIGAN (D) - Lynx

 

Jarrett recorded two assists while playing a strong defensive game in leading the Southside MacDonald's Excavation / EF MacPhee Lynx to a season opening 4-0 shutout over the Tignish Perry's Construction Aces.
