March 16th - 22nd, 2011

Alex tied the game up with a power-play goal which led to the Charlottetown Halliwell Consulting Abbies' win in game one in a tight game with strong goaltending.  He also set up two nice goals in game two in a losing effort.  He led the Abbies in points in the regular season and will need to keep up his strong play if they are able to win the island championship.

Chris played in both games for the Abbies to start the championship series.  He had two strong performances, including a strong 43-save performance in a 2-1 win in game one in Tignish.  Although the Tignish Perry's Construction Aces took game two, he kept the Abbies in it by making 36 saves on another busy night.

March 9th - 15th, 2011

Spencer scored his fifth goal of the series in double overtime to help the Tignish Perry's Construction Aces knock off the surprising sixth-seeded North River Island Excavators Flames in six games.  The second-year defenceman has nine points in the post-season which is half of his total from the regular season.

Kevin gave another stellar playoff performance in the Flames' 3-2 loss to the Aces in double overtime. During the game he faced a total of 61 shots and stopped 58 for a save percentage of .951. He gave the Flames a chance to win almost every playoff game he played. He was called upon in the post-season, facing an average of 43 shots per game, and capped off a great junior career with one more outstanding performance.

March 2nd - 8th, 2011

Jeremy was a force on offense for the Charlottetown Halliwell Consulting Abbies over the last week. Not only did he eliminate the Morell Cover All Construction Crunch with the series clinching goal in double-overtime. He also had a hat-trick in the a 6-5 win in game two. He was also called upon for his defensive play late in three tight games on the weekend.

In both of his games this week, Taylor was the Abbies best player.  He made 37 saves in a 5-3 loss to Morell on Saturday.  On Tuesday he was on his game again with another 37-save performance. The highlight was a spectacular save on Nigel Fisher on a breakaway with 20 seconds left in the first overtime period to help the Abbies to the series winning victory in double overtime.

February 23rd - March 1st, 2011

Robbie scored the overtime winner and had many chances to end the game earlier in game one against the Morell Cover All Construction Crunch.  The Charlottetown Halliwell Consulting Abbies forward has produced points in all four playoff games to date.  He is the Abbies leading scorer in the post-season with 10 points in four games.

Kevin again showed that he is in fine playoff form with two busy games against the top-seeded Tignish Perry's Construction Aces.  Kevin has been the starting goalie in all playoff games for the North River Island Excavators Flames to date and despite the fact that his team has been outshot in every playoff game to date, he has given them the opportunity to win on many occasions.

February 16th - 22nd, 2011

The captain of the Red Devils had a very successful weekend.  His best night was game four in which he scored a hat-trick and two assists to help his team force a fifth game.  The forward scored 55 points in the regular season, which was good for sixth in the league in only his second season of junior hockey.

Ben played all 180 minutes in goal for the Red Devils last week.  His play helped the Red Devils storm back from a 2-0 series deficit and keep his team alive down to the final whistle.  Ben earned the starting role for the team which carried three goalies all season and showed he deserved the spot in the post-season.

February 9th - 15th, 2011

Jamie had an excellent weekend, helping the Morell Cover All Construction Crunch jump out to a 2-0 series lead over the South Side MacDonald's Excavation / EF MacPhee Construction Lynx.  He was most specifically effective in game two on Saturday night where he had an amazing 5-goal performance.  Jamie has put together one of the most successful career's of all-time in this league, scoring 263 points in 120 games (combined regular season and playoffs) while only accruing 26 penalty minutes over his entire career.

Kevin was the winning goaltender in the North River Island Excavators Flames two surprising victories over the Red Devils in the first round of the playoffs.  He made several key stops in games in which his team was heavily outshot by a combined 83-51 margin.  In fact, the Flames were swept 4-0 in the regular season by Pownal, but Kevin's play has brought the Flames within a game of eliminating the third seed in the first round.

February 2nd - 8th, 2011

Dillon is a gritty player who has lots of speed and has been contributing offensively as of late.  He works hard in both ends of the ice and in two important games on the week-end was rewarded with two goals and six assists (half of his points total for the season - 16) to help the Tinish Perry's Construction Aces clinch top spot in the standings.  He battled an ankle injury early in the season but now has fully recovered and will be a key factor to help Tignish in the playoffs.

Mark allowed only one goal in the final game of the regular season which was also a battle for the top seed heading into the playoffs.  Mark is in his fourth season in the league and has won the Island Championship in every season so far amassing a regular season record of 52-5-1.  In fact he did not have a regular season loss until his third year in the league.  He was awarded top goaltender at last year's Maritime Hockey North Junior C Championships in Fredericton.

January 26th - February 1st, 2011

Alex was all over the scoresheet last week and scored the game winning goal in both of the Charlottetown Halliwell Consulting Abbies' wins including a buzzer-beater in overtime on Sunday against the North River Island Excavators Flames.  He also had a hat-trick on Saturday night's win over Holland College.  The overage player has had his biggest offensive season in the league by far with 33 points in 22 games.

Chris picked up two wins on the weekend. On Saturday he shut out Holland College while making 27 saves, and on Sunday he came into the game in relief and allowed only one goal on 21 shots to help the Abbies to the OT win over North River.  Chris joined the team earlier in January after having played in eight games with the Charlottetown Junior B team.

January 19th - 25th, 2011

Kenzie is a big strong centre who skates very well and has a hard shot. Over two wins on the week-end he had five points for the Tignish Perry's Construction Aces.  He also plays on the power-play and penalty-killing units.  He's the team's leading scorer and is an overage player who has amassed 144 points over 97 career games in the league.

Sean stopped 34 shots in a key 3-2 win for the Holland College Junior Hurricanes over the Montague Sharks.  The win helped the Hurricanes pass the Sharks for 7th place.  He has performed great for the Hurricanes this season although his numbers suffer from playing on a team that has struggled with injuries in its first season in the league. He made numerous stops late in the third as the Sharks pressed to tie the game.

January 12th - 18th, 2011

Calvin's five goals and three assists lead his team in two dominant wins for the Pownal Red Devils. He is tied for second in the league in goals and is third in points.  In his second season in the league, Calvin is already 27 points further than a year ago and is seriously contending for the scoring title.  His play has kept his team to within two points of first place in the standings.

Hayden led his team defensively in goal with a shutout victory in the North River Island Excavators Flames' win over the Holland College Hurricanes. He stopped all 20 shots he faced and was able to record just the second shutout in the league this season.  All this in only his third game in the league after joining the team over the Christmas break.

January 5th - 11th, 2011

Josh had an eight-point weekend in the Pownal Red Devils two wins, including a four-goal performance on Friday night against the Morell Cover All Construction Crunch.  He is presently fourth on the team in points with 28 in 21 games in his first season in the league for what has been by far the best offensive season for the Red Devils since entering the league in 2003-04.

Brandon played his two best games of the season on the weekend for the Charlottetown Halliwell Consulting Abbies and used a physical game to get it done.  He also blocked a lot of shots and was great on the backcheck, while chipping in with three assists on the weekend.  He has played physical, but has been disciplined with only four penalty minutes through 13 games in his rookie season.

December 29th,2010 - January 4th, 2011

Evan had a hat-trick and three assists a win over Holland College on the week-end.  He just joined the Tignish Perry's Construction Aces in December and has already collected 15 points in his first seven games.  The overage player has recorded 159 points so far over four season in the league and is a hard working centre with an excellent shot who can beat you with his speed or his finesse..

Brennan plays every second shift on defense and has made the transition from forward very well.  In the North River Island Excavators Flames 3-2 victory over the Montague Sharks, he picked up an assist and broke up many rushes into the Flames' zone.  He's also been on a point-per-game pace in his first year in the league.

December 22nd - 28th, 2010

Derek scored the winning goal in a tight 4-2 game on Monday night against the North River Island Excavators Flames on the eve of his 19th birthday.  The goal enabled him to surpass his points total from last season and we're not even into January yet.  He has eight goals and seven assists for 15 points so far while the Morell Cover All Construction Crunch still have 12 games remaining on the schedule.

Brady stopped 21 shots and was a key factor on the penalty-kill in Monday night's victory.  The Crunch ran into penalty trouble and were short-handed for almost a full 20 minutes over the course of the game and Brady bailed his team out by not allowing a single goal while his team was down a man.  The Flames went 0 for 10 with the man advantage.

December 15th - 21st, 2010

Playing in his first game with the South Side MacDonald's Excavation / EF MacPhee Construction Lynx, Evan scored the winning goal with two seconds left on the clock to help the Lynx sweep a home and away weekend series over the first place Charlottetown Halliwell Consulting Abbies on Sunday. The win helped them move into fifth place in the standings, one point ahead of the North River Island Excavators Flames. 

Marshall had four points and was a plus-five in the Lynx' two wins on the weekend.  He was a solid defensemen and played a key role in both wins by blocking shots and contributing offensively.  He's played in 17 games for the Lynx this season and has recorded 12 points.

December 8th - 14th, 2010

Kyle was a key contributor to the Lynx two victories over the weekend.  He scored four goals and added an assist in a surprising 9-3 win over the second place Pownal Red Devils on Saturday night.  He also scored the game-tying goal with five minutes remaining on Sunday to push the game to overtime and earn a 5-4 win over the Montague Sharks.  He was a +6 over the two games. 

Taylor had another great performance on Saturday turning aside 31 shots in another nail-biter versus the Tignish Perry's Construction Aces.  He made many key saves in close to preserve a 3-2 victory for the Charlottetown Halliwell Consulting Abbies in a fast paced game.  Taylor leads the league in goaltending statistically by a wide margin.  He boasts a sparkling 2.00 GAA and .938 save percentage with a perfect 8-0 record.

December 1st - 7th, 2010

Last year's scoring champion had a seven-point weekend, which helped the Morell Cover All Construction Crunch pick up two wins in close games over the Montague Sharks and Tignish Perry's Construction Aces.  The win moves the Crunch into a tie for third place with the Aces.  Jamie is in his final year of eligibility in Junior C and has proven to be an offensive threat whenever he is on the ice.   After a slow start to the year offensively this week's performance moved him into a tie for fourth in league scoring. 

Kevin had a strong weekend in goal for the North River Island Excavators Flames.  He faced a total of 87 shots in two games including a whopping 51 in a game in which he kept the Flames alive in a close 3-1 loss on the road against the Aces on Sunday and a 37-save performance on Friday in a 5-1 win over the South Side MacDonald's Excavation / EF MacPhee Construction Lynx.  Kevin is an overage player and comes from the North Rustico Minor Hockey system.

November 24th - 30th, 2010

Mike scored a hat-trick including the game winner with 4:18 to go in a tight 5-4 win over Holland College.  The Charlottetown Halliwell Consulting Abbies were short-staffed during the game when he hurt his leg in the second period, but the captain continued on, showing his leadership. 

Zac logged big minutes for the Sharks in their two consecutive wins over the weekend.  He was especially crucial late in the game against Pownal shutting down the Red Devils attempt to tie the game as well in the overtime frame vs the North River Island Excavators Flames.  He also chipped in offensively, making crisp precise passes out of the zone and holding the blueline.

November 17th - 23rd, 2010

It was only a matter of time before the Morell Cover All Construction Crunch forward picked up a player-of-the-week award.  His solid play on the weekend included a six-point night in a big win over the Montague Sharks on Friday night.  Nigel is tied for the first in the league's scoring race with 22 points in just nine games played.  He is in his fourth season in the league and has maintained an average of 1.72 points per game over his career.

Morgan was a key contributer to the Charlottetown Halliwell Consulting Abbies' two wins on the weekend which earned the team a four-point lead in the standings.  He was key on the Abbies penalty kill and played great in defensive situations in two close games. He played a physical game and scored his first goal of the season on Saturday night against the North River Island Excavators Flames.

November 10th - 16th, 2010

Chad had a hat-trick in the South Side MacDonald's Excavation / EF MacPhee Construction Lynx' 9-2 win over Montague on Sunday and accumulated 7 points over two decisive victories for the Lynx on the weekend and was a whopping +12 in the process. He's a great playmaker and gives 110% every shift and is currently two points out of the league lead in the scoring race with 14 points.

Calvin helped the Sharks to their first win with 40 saves, including key saves in the final minutes of the third and a couple big saves in overtime.  His play kept the Sharks in the game long enough to earn a 3-2 OT win against the North River Island Excavators Flames.  He also came in in relief in the Sharks loss on Sunday against the Lynx.  Calvin's save percentage is third in the league at .902.

November 3rd - 9th, 2010

Matt had seven points this weekend including the game-winning-goal in Friday's come-from-behind win against the Hurricanes.  He also set up the tying goal minutes earlier.  Matt has played both forward and defence in this young season for the Morell Cover All Construction Crunch and has already accumulated eleven points.

Kyle played in both games last weekend against the Tignish Perry's Construction Aces and Montague Sharks.  His play on penalty kills and his defensive zone coverage was a key in keeping the total goals against for the weekend to just two.  He was able to stay out of the penalty box and chipped in with a pair of helpers.

October 27th - November 2nd, 2010

In his only game of the weekend, Chad led the North River Island Excavators Flames to victory with four points including a game-tying goal in the third period of a 5-4 win over the Morell Cover-All Construction Crunch. He has now taken over the sole lead in the league scoring race with ten points in three games. He works hard on the powerplay and on penalty killing.

Chris, who usually plays right wing, moved back to the blueline and played strong defense, making many nice plays to help the Charlottetown Halliwell Consulting Abbies to a win over Pownal. He played on the blueline to cover for team injuries and illness and played over half the game as the Abbies only had three regular defensemen.

October 20th - 26th, 2010

Spencer's on top of the league scoring race after the first week of play with six points.  He scored two game-winning-goals including the winner with 1:37 remaining in the third on Saturday against the South Side MacDonald's Excavation / EF MacPhee Construction Lynx.  He's an anchor on the power-play and is an offensive defensemen who is able to move the puck effectively.

Taylor turned aside 42 of 43 shots in his first start in the league and helped the Charlottetown Halliwell Consulting Abbies to a 4-1 win over Pownal on Friday night.  He made many spectacular saves from in close and was a key factor in three 5-on-3 penalty kills in the game.
