The Razzy's Junior Hockey League will be taking advantage of an early adopter incentive program from Hockey Canada and will transition to full face shields for the 2019-20 season.
To continue to reduce risk and increase safety, Hockey Canada has mandated that beginning August 1, 2020 all teams below Junior A will be required to wear full facial protection. Hockey Canada feels that this will be an important step in reducing injury and in creating an environment that enhances player safety. The Razzy's Junior Hockey League decided to take advantage of the early adopter incentives offered by Hockey Canada and implement the new policy a year ahead of schedule.
This means that players will have to wear full face shields effective immediately for any tryouts, practices, or games with their team.
The five member teams for the 2019-20 season are Sherwood, Tignish, North River, Summerside, and Georgetown.
