Alex Brennan scored a hat-trick and Jake Hackett recorded his second shutout of the playoffs as the Tignish Perry's Construction Aces clinched a birth in the finals with an 8-0 win over the Charlottetown Halliwell Consulting Abbies in game seven of their semi-final series at Simmons. The Aces will meet the Pownal Redmond Enterprises Red Devils in the best-of-seven final which will start this weekend.
With the Aces win on Tuesday night, Pownal earned the right to join the host team at the Maritime-Hockey North Junior C Championships on April 11th - 15th in Tignish as the PEI Representative. The two island teams will join a field that includes the Hampton Hurricanes from New Brunswick, as well as a representative from Nova Scotia and Nunavut yet to be determined. The Hockey North representative will be decided on the weekend in the Nunavut Challenge Cup (best-of-three series) between the Qikitani Sharks and Kivalliq Canucks. The Chester Clippers currently lead the best-of-seven Nova Scotia Junior C Hockey League Championship series two games to none over the Clare Lions with games three and four scheduled for this weekend in Church Point, NS.
