 The Flames scored six first period goals en route to a 10-5 win over the Sherwood Falcons in pre-season action at MacLaughlin Arena on Monday night.
For North River, Matt Gauthier (2-1), Lucas Vessey (2-1), Adam Gallant (1-3), Grant Laird (1-2), Morgan MacLellan (1-1), Nic Jones (1-1), Jason MacAlduff, and Jordan Nicholson rounded out the scoring. Borden Rhyno chipped in with two helpers along with Walter Stavert, Jeremy Wyand, Alex Bryanton, Ryan MacEwen, and Glen Gorveatte adding singles.
Nathan McKearney (2-1), Spencer Laird (2), and Tyler MacLean (1-1) scored for Sherwood, while Shawn Hughes (2) Alex Hannam (2), Darren Cairns, A.J. Lawless, Jordan Stetson, and Josh Beaton had assists.
The shots on goal were 35-25 for the Flames. Kevin MacKay and Ryan Payne shared the goaltending duties for North River, while Chris Wigmore took the loss for Sherwood.
The Flames had period leads of 6-2 after the first and 7-3 after the second.
