Kyle played in all three season since the Abbies returned to the league in 2009-10 and during that span he was the team leader in goals and points.
Kyle is a 4th year Business student at UPEI and is scheduled to graduate in May. "I've currently undergone eleven chemo treatments over a span of seven months, and really my main goal right now, besides school, is to just beat this cancer, get healthy, and get back to my normal life," said Osmond.
"I hope the all-star game proves to be a tremendous success and the junior C league itself continues to grow," he adds. "Its a great, competitive league and I would have given anything to play in my last season. Perhaps if this game becomes a tradition, I could some day play on the alumni team".
"I admire the strength that this young man has," says league commissioner, Jared Doucette. "Even under the circumstances, any time I've talked to him he always seems to maintain such a positive attitude."
Both teams will be wearing the colours of Kyle's former team, the Charlottetown Abbies, and Osmond will be on hand to drop the puck for the game's ceremonial face-off.
"I also would just like to mention again how overwhelmed and very thankful for all the support I received throughout my battle with cancer, I couldn't have asked for anything more", added Osmond.
The game's opening face-off will be at 7:20 with a pre-game ceremony in advance of the game. A donation box for Kyle will be on hand at the front door.
