Hockey PEI has announced that the Sherwood Falcons has been selected as the host for the 2015 Maritime Hockey North Junior C Championships. The Falcons will host the event at the MacLauchlan Arena (CARI) from March 25-29, 2015.
The championship will crown the top Junior C team from the maritime region and Northern Canada. Teams will include Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, a PEI representative from the PEI Junior C Hockey League and the host team Sherwood Falcons. In addition, there will be a team representing Hockey North. Last year's team was the Kavalliq Canucks.
The tournament will consist of ten round robin games followed by two semi-finals and the Championship game on Sunday March 29th.
The Sherwood Falcons were successful in their bid attempt, as they were selected by a selection committee comprised of members of Hockey PEI whom reviewed two bid applications and made the selection for the championships.
"On behalf of the Sherwood Junior C Falcons and our host committee we are very excited and look forward to hosting the Maritime North Junior C Championship. We look forward to begin preparations for a great event in the City of Charlottetown in cooperation with Hockey PEI. One of our key objectives is to make sure everyone involved has a great experience," stated Robert Maddix representing the Sherwood Junior C Falcons and the host bid committee.
