MARCH 28th to April 3rd, 2018

OFFENSIVE Player of the Week: BRANDON SULLIVAN - Metros 
 
Brandon had a great final series while displaying his speedy offensive style.  After they jumped out to a 4-0 lead early in game seven, Brandon scored two goals in the first half of the second period to put the game out of reach and secure the win.  He also set up the first goal of the game, which ended up being the game-winner.

DEFENSIVE Player of the Week: BLAKE ARSENAULT - Metros
 
Blake had a great season going 13-1.  He also had only one loss in the playoffs.  To cap it off, he had his first shutout of the season in game seven of the Island Championship series to secure the Metros' first Championship in 10 years.

MARCH 21st to 27th, 2018

OFFENSIVE Player of the Week: CHASE McHUGH - Aces
 
Chase is a last-year junior player and is leaving it on the ice and playing his best hockey of the season.  He racked up three assists in each of the Tignish Perry's Construction Aces' games this week.  He has worked hard in both ends of the rink all series long.

DEFENSIVE Player of the Week: BRETT RAMSAY - Aces
 
Another fourth-year player, Brett is finally cashing in on some big shots from the blueline and scoring key goals for the Aces.  He has given it all to keep his team alive and contributed with a pair of goals and three assists to force the series to game #7.  He plays a strong, physical brand of hockey.

MARCH 14th - 20th, 2018

OFFENSIVE Player of the Week: OWEN ARSENAULT - Metros
 
Owen has been playing well in the playoffs.  He keeps producing for the Metros and has now taken the scoring lead for the playoffs.  He helped the Metros back into the series by scoring two big goals in game three, including the winner and has been key for the Metros on the power-play.

DEFENSIVE Player of the Week: BRADLEY SHEA - Aces
 
Bradley was strong in game four at home as the Tignish Perry's Construction Aces stormed back to tie the championship series at two games apiece with a 7-2 win.  This the first time the Metros offence was held to just two goals since January 15th.

MARCH 7th - 13th, 2018

OFFENSIVE Player of the Week: BRAYDEN HANDRAHAN - Aces
 
Brayden had six points in the first two games of the Island Championship series vs the Metros.  In game one he had a goal and three assists, including setting up Dawson Sellick's overtime winner for the Tignish Perry's Construction Aces.  He also had a goal and an assist in a losing effort in game two.  Brayden was fourth in the league in regular season scoring with 52 points.

DEFENSIVE Player of the Week: JAMES DUFFY - Metros
 
James had a great game against the Aces in game two to get the Metros their first win of the finals and knot the series.  He had a great regular season and is continuing to play well in the playoffs with three wins in his first three post-season games.

FEBRUARY 28th - MARCH 6th, 2018

OFFENSIVE Player of the Week: SHAWN CORNEY - Metros
 
Shawn had a great series against the Summerside Cover All Construction Crunch.  He leads the team in playoffs with 11 points in three games.  He has been a great addition to the Metros and has moved up on the first power-play unit.  The Metros are looking for Shawn to be an offensive leader of the finals.

DEFENSIVE Player of the Week: LOGAN TOOLE - Metros
 
Logan played great on the blue line plus has provided some offense.  In the series against Summerside he helped in killing penalties, especially in game two where the Metros were two men short mid-way through the third and the score was tied 5-5.  The Metros killed the penalty and went on to win game two..

FEBRUARY 21st - 27th, 2018

OFFENSIVE Player of the Week: COLTON MORRIS - Crunch
 
Colton scored the biggest goal of the playoffs so far when he sniped the game winner, his second of the night, in the first minute of overtime in the deciding game of the Summerside Cover All Construction Crunch's series win over North River. Colton has had a solid season at close to a point-per-game pace offensively.

DEFENSIVE Player of the Week: LUKE DIBENEDETTO - Metros
 
Luke is a solid stay-at-home defenseman who has played well all year killing penalties and providing an opportunity for the Metros to win.  In the first game of the playoffs he scored his first goal of the year.  This is his first year with the Metros since he played last season with the Belfast Sabres after his old team took a year of absence from the league this season.

FEBRUARY 14th - 20th, 2018
 
OFFENSIVE Player of the Week: MATT MacKINNON - Crunch 
 
Matt had a huge offensive night as the Summerside Cover All Construction Crunch staved off elimination with a big 9-3 win over the North River Flames in game four of their quarter-final series.  Matt has played a limited number of games in the regular season but was key in the team's series win in the first round.

DEFENSIVE Player of the Week: CAELEN FERGUSON - Lynx 
 
Although he also had very good run-support in his two wins, Caelen was solid when called upon allowing just four goals during two victories over the Clory Construction Eagles.  Caelen stopped 46 shots for the South Side MacDonald's Excavation / EF MacPhee Lynx.  He has only appeared in four games for the Lynx so far after playing most of the season with Kensington in the IJHL.

FEBRUARY 7TH - 13TH, 2018
 
OFFENSIVE Player of the Week: DREW GRADY - Lynx
 
Drew picked up seven points in his first Junior C playoff game as the South Side MacDonald's Excavation / EF MacPhee Lynx opened up their series against the Clory Construction Eagles with a decisive victory.  Drew joined the Lynx mid-season after playing the first have of the season with the Jr. B Vipers and has picked up 34 points in just 11 games to this point.

DEFENSIVE Player of the Week: CONNOR GALLANT - Crunch 
 
Connor has been very busy as of late and played all three games for the Summerside Cover All Construction Crunch this week.  He was strong in a loss against a tough team in the last regular season game vs the Sherwood Metros and was strong in games one and two of their playoff series with another strong offensive team in the North River Flames.

JANUARY 31st - FEBRUARY 6th, 2018
 
OFFENSIVE Player of the Week: BRYDON SMITH - Aces
 
Brydon picked up a hat-trick and two helpers in the Aces' regular season finale victory over the North River Flames.  He finished his rookie season in the league with 34 points, good for fourth on the team.

DEFENSIVE Player of the Week: SEAN MacPHEE - Lynx
 
Sean picked up a shutout in the South Side MacDonald's Excavation / EF MacPhee Lynx' route of the Clory Construction Eagles on home ice.  The shutout was his first of the season and 10th win.

JANUARY 24th - 30th, 2018
 
OFFENSIVE Player of the Week: SHAWN CORNEY - Metros
 
Shawn had a productive week.  He missed a big part of the season due to an injury, but has been great offensively as of late.  This week he helped the Metros to two big wins to secure first place over the surging Tignish Perry's Construction Aces and Summerside Cover All Construction Crunch.

DEFENSIVE Player of the Week: BLAKE ARSENAULT - Metros 
 
Blake continues to have a great season.  He played a great game against the Aces to earn a 5-3 win.  He faced 39 shots in that road game on Sunday night and made big saves in the second period where he faced all 17 shots that period.

JANUARY 17 - 23rd, 2018
 
OFFENSIVE Player of the Week: REMI ARSENAULT - Crunch
 
Remi had an offensive explosion this weekend with 11 points in his two games including a blowout win over the Clory Construction Eagles and a 7-4 loss against the Tignish Perry's Construction Aces.  He is second on the team in scoring with 33 points in 25 games played.

DEFENSIVE Player of the Week: TREVOR WHALEN - Lynx
 
The South Side MacDonald's Excavation / EF MacPhee Lynx' affiliate player stepped in and took the win over the Clory Construction Eagles on the weekend in his first game in Junior C.  He stopped all but two shots on his way to victory.  Trevor is one of the top goaltenders in the PEI Midget AAA league while playing with Pownal.

JANUARY 10 - 16th, 2018
 
OFFENSIVE Player of the Week: JAMES BIRT - Crunch
 
James scored a hat-trick including the winner in a 6-4 win over the South Side MacDonald's Excavation / EF MacPhee Lynx on Saturday night.  He followed that up with two goals and an assist in a road win against the Clory Construction Eagles in Georgetown.  James in second on the team in scoring for the Summerside Cover All Construction Crunch with 24 points in 18 games played.

DEFENSIVE Player of the Week: ANDREW GALLANT - Aces
 
Andrew was solid in the Tignish Perry's Construction Aces' solid 7-1 win over Summerside on Friday night in Summerside.  Andrew also entered Sunday's game in relief early in the second period and kept the Aces in the game making 24 saves in a tight 4-3 loss to North River.

JANUARY 3 - 9th, 2018
 
OFFENSIVE Player of the Week: JAKE ARSENAULT - Metros
 
Jake had a strong offensive week leading his team to two more wins.  He had a hat-trick against the Summerside Cover All Construction Crunch and played a strong game against the Clory Construction Eagles.  He continues to lead the league in goals with 29 in 22 games.

DEFENSIVE Player of the Week: LOGAN TOOLE - Metros 
 
Logan repeats as defensive player of the week.  The team captain was strong on the blue line and turned out a great offensive performance to take over the league lead in scoring.  Logan had his second hat-trick of the year against Georgetown.

DECEMBER 27th - JANUARY 2nd, 2018
 
OFFENSIVE Player of the Week: RYAN BECKINGHAM - Lynx
 
Ryan contributed in a big way to the South Side MacDonald's Excavation / EF MacPhee Lynx' pair of victories on the weekend that moved them into second place in the standings and currently in one of the spots that gets a first-round bye in the playoffs.  He had three points in their road win over the Clory Construction Eagles, followed by a 4-point night in another victory at North River.

DEFENSIVE Player of the Week: LOGAN TOOLE - Metros 
 
Logan has been a huge part of the Metros' dominant play throughout the first half of this season with his play on the blueline which has earned him a spot in the all-star game next week.  With a short bench on Friday night in Summerside, he was able to contribute offensively as well with a goal and an assist.

DECEMBER 20th - 26th, 2017
 
OFFENSIVE Player of the Week: CONNOR ANDREWS - Flames
 
Connor had a huge game against the Clory Construction Eagles with five points and had another two against the Sherwood Metros.  He is second on the team in scoring with 34 points in just 18 games.

DEFENSIVE Player of the Week: RYAN CLORY - Flames
 
Ryan had to play on back-to-back nights as he subbed in at the last minute for Saturday night's injured starter for the Flames.  He earned a strong win over Georgetown Friday night before putting forth a solid effort in a tight loss to the first-place Sherwood Metros on Saturday.  He stopped 67 shots over the two games.

DECEMBER 13 - 19th, 2017
 
OFFENSIVE Player of the Week: BRAYDEN HANDRAHAN - Aces
 
Brayden scored both game-winning goals for the Tignish Perry's Construction Aces versus North River and Sherwood this weekend.  Brayden is a first-year junior player who plays both ends of the ice with determination and is making his presence known in the league..

DEFENSIVE Player of the Week: LEXIN GAUDET - Aces
 
Lexin is another first-year junior player who helped the Aces on the weekend with sound defensive play.  He is solid on the blueline and is a big part of the team's penalty kill and power-play.  This weekend he added three helpers offensively.

DECEMBER 6 - 12th, 2017
 
OFFENSIVE Player of the Week: DREW GRADY - Lynx
 
The South Side MacDonald's Excavation / EF MacPhee Lynx' newest addition created instant offense this past weekend.  Drew scored three goals in his debut against the Cover All Construction Crunch.  He then showed his playmaking abilities with four assists in a win over North River.  He was also a physical presence and has been a key addition to the Lynx.

DEFENSIVE Player of the Week: JAMES DUFFY - Metros
 
James made it back-to-back shutouts with a 23-save performance on Monday night at home against the Tignish Perry's Construction Aces.  He now has a 127-minute shutout streak going and his GAA is now under 2 at 1.99 to lead the league.  He also leads the league in save % at .942.

NOVEMBER 29th - DECEMBER 5th, 2017
 
OFFENSIVE Player of the Week: BRADY VANDERVELDEN - Lynx
 
Brady broke through in a big way during a very important home game for the South Side MacDonald's Excavation / EF MacPhee Lynx on Saturday night against North River.  He led the team to a 4-3 shootout victory with a hat-trick.  He also recorded his 100th career goal for the Lynx in the process.

DEFENSIVE Player of the Week: JAMES DUFFY - Metros
 
James came up with another big game with his second shutout of the year.  He helped the Metros blank the Clory Construction Eagles 4-0.  He continues to be atop the goaltending leaders in the league with an 8-0 record and a 2.23 GAA.

NOVEMBER 22 - 28th, 2017

OFFENSIVE Player of the Week: OWEN ARSENAULT - Metros 
 
The veteran player had a great week helping the Metros to three wins.  Owen had the OT winner to cap off a hat-trick in the home win over the Tignish Perry's Construction Aces and also scored the winning goal with less than two minutes to play against the South Side MacDonald's Excavation / EF MacPhee Lynx.  He's been playing particularly strong lately while playing a key role quarterbacking the power-play.

DEFENSIVE Player of the Week: RYAN CLORY - Flames
 
Ryan was solid in net as he recorded the shutout in the North River victory over Georgetown to record his first junior win.  He was especially sharp in the first period making many quality saves as the Clory Construction Eagles took it to the Flames early on.

NOVEMBER 15 - 21st, 2017
 
OFFENSIVE Player of the Week: DAWSON SELLICK - Aces
 
Dawson is a first-year junior player who is sure making his presence known in the league and climbing up the scoring race game by game.  He works hard in both ends of the rink and was a big part in the Tignish Perry's Construction Aces' two victories.  He had three points against the Cover All Construction Crunch and another two in a big win over the Sherwood Metros.

DEFENSIVE Player of the Week: DRAKE SMALLMAN - Aces
 
Drake is another first-year junior C player and the Aces are glad to have him.  On the blueline he does his job perfectly.  He contributed with two goals and two assists offensively as well this week to help the Aces pick up two big wins on the weekend including handing the first-place Sherwood Metros their first loss of the season.

November 8 - 14th, 2017

OFFENSIVE Player of the Week: BRANDON FORSYTHE - Aces
 
As a first-year player in the league, Brandon has been a good contributor thus far for the Tignish Perry's Construction Aces.  On the weekend he scored the winning goal in 4-2 victory over the South Side MacDonald's Excavation / EF MacPhee Lynx.  He also scored another two goals in a 7-5 win over North River.

DEFENSIVE Player of the Week: DERIAN VESSEY - Metros
 
Derian is having a great start to his fourth and final season with the Metros.  His role has been shutting down the offensive threats from other teams.  He's been key defensively on the penalty kill with the Metros only allowing two power-play goals against so far. He also contributed on the scoresheet with five points.

NOVEMBER 1 - 7th, 2017

OFFENSIVE Player of the Week: WILL TUPLIN - Aces
 
Will plays well both offensively and defensively, but his offensive play in Sunday's 9-5 victory for the Tignish Perry's Construction Aces over the North River Flames was huge as he picked up a hat-trick and two assists.  His efforts on Saturday night also didn't go unnoticed as he picked up a goal and assist in a 5-3 loss to South Side MacDonald's Excavation / EF MacPhee Lynx.

DEFENSIVE Player of the Week: CONNOR GALLANT - Crunch 
 
Connor put forth a strong goaltending display, albeit in a 3-2 loss to the still undefeated Sherwood Metros.  He turned aside 41 shots and kept the Summerside Cover All Construction Crunch in the game despite being significantly outshot.  The game was the first time this season the Metros had been held to less than five goals.

OCTOBER 25 - 31st, 2017
 
OFFENSIVE Player of the Week: JAKE ARSENAULT - Metros
 
Jake continued his scoring pace with another great week.  He helped the Metros edge the North River Flames and beat the defending league champion South Side MacDonald's Excavation / EF MacPhee Lynx.  His seven points kept him on top of the league in scoring.

DEFENSIVE Player of the Week: JAMES DUFFY - Metros
 
Goaltender, James Duffy, had a great game to shut out the 2016-17 league champion Lynx.  He has had a great start to the season with three wins and is the league leader in GAA of 1.33 and a .962 save percentage.

OCTOBER 18 - 24th, 2017


OFFENSIVE Player of the Week: JAKE ARSENAULT - Metros
 
The 2016-17 scoring leader had a breakout week.  In the Metros two games this week he lead the team in scoring and helped the team win both games.  This helped the Metros take an early lead in the league standings.

DEFENSIVE Player of the Week: LOGAN TOOLE - Metros
 
The Metros captain will be taking a lead role and will play defense for the season.  This week, Logan helped the team to two victories against last year's league champions, South Side MacDonald's Excavation / EF MacPhee Lynx and the North River Flames.  Along with being sharp defensively, he helped with key breakout passes and set up numerous goals for the Metros.  He quarterbacks the blueline.

OCTOBER 11 - 17th, 2017
 
OFFENSIVE Player of the Week: MATT CRAIG - Flames 
 
Matt started the season in fine firm recording three goals and four assists to lead the Flames to victory over Summerside Cover All Construction Crunch in the season opener at home.

DEFENSIVE Player of the Week: CAMERON NELSON - Lynx
 
The second year South Side MacDonald's Excavation / EF MacPhee Lynx veteran was huge in his team's opening night victory playing big minutes on the blue line with lots of big penalty kills and running the point on the power plays. Nelson made some huge plays in front of his goalie Sean McPhee to help lead the Lynx.
