OFFENSIVE Player of the Week: COLTON DAWSON - Lynx

Colton has had a tremendous season. He lead the league in scoring, and this week played a big part in the South Side MacDonald's Excavation / EF MacPhee Lynx' opening weekend of the finals registering seven points in the first two games of the finals, including a hat trick.

DEFENSIVE Player of the Week: BLAKE MacKENZIE - Lynx

Blake MacKenzie helped lead the Lynx defense to victories in games one and two of the finals. Blake has played the role of shutdown defenseman throughout the season and continued his solid play in the playoffs. His play and leadership have made him a good team player.

Mar. 2nd - 8th, 2016

OFFENSIVE Player of the Week: LOGAN VANDERVELDEN - Lynx

Affiliate Player, Logan Vandervelden, had an excellent weekend for the South Side MacDonald's Excavation / EF MacPhee Lynx. Friday night be recorded two points in an 11-1 win over the Aces in game two. Then on Sunday evening Logan was in on four of Southside's goals, including a natural hat trick, as they closed out the series and earned a birth in the final.

DEFENSIVE Player of the Week: JORDAN ZEMBER - Lynx

While his teammates were filling the opposing team's net, Jordan was shutting the door on his end and made 30 saves in game two of the Lynx series vs. Tignish.  Jordan has a 5-1 (win/loss) record since joining the Lynx late in the season.

OFFENSIVE Player of the Week: CHASE McCUE - Aces

Chase came up big with points on all five of the Tignish Perry's Construction Aces in the fifth and deciding game of their first-round series against the North River Flames on Friday night.  Chase recorded a hat-trick by scoring the first three Tignish goals and then had helpers on the winning and insurance markers to round up his points for the night.
 
DEFENSIVE Player of the Week: JARRETT MULLIGAN - Lynx

Jarrett scored the opening goal and added three assists in a series opening 9-2 win over the Aces. Mulligan played his usual solid defensive play in game one. The Lynx got production throughout the lineup in their first playoff game in defence of their league championship.
 

January 27th - February 2nd, 2016

Offensive Player of the Week
#14 ZACK MacDONALD (F) - Metros
Zack MacDonald has been playing great lately for the Metros. In his last four games he has tallied 13 points and jumped into a fifth place tie amongst the scoring leaders for the league. This week Zack helped the Metros with six points in a 7-1 win against the Morrell Flyers. Also, Zack is now the top scorer for the team.

Defensive Player of the Week
#4 LUKE MacDONALD (D) - Flyers

After serving a couple of lengthy suspensions early in the year, Luke has turned it around since the calendar switched to 2016 and has been an effective player for the Flyers.  This weekend he picked up eight points including an assist on the game winning overtime goal on Saturday night in Morell. The overage player had only two points before this weekend.

January 20th - 26th, 2016

Offensive Player of the Week
#9 RYLEY DOYLE (F) - Aces

Ryley had a huge weekend in a home-and-home series for the Tignish Perry's Construction Aces against the North River Flames.  He registered seven points in the series.  Ryley moved in to the top five in league points after the weekend.  The overage player has points in 11 of his last 12 games and is a huge reason why the Aces have turned their season around.

Defensive Player of the Week
#21 MATTHEW GLOVER - Sabres

The Belfast Down East Auto Parts Sabres defence was hit with injuries recently and Matthew dropped back to defence and put in a solid performance in his own end.  His play contributed to two more wins on the weekend which gave the Sabres a solid lead in the standings that brings them closer to clinching top spot headed into the playoffs.

January 13th - 19th, 2016

Offensive Player of the Week
#19 BRAD POWER (F) - Flames

Brad scored a hat-trick on the weekend in a victory for the North River Flames over Morell.  He is having his biggest season offensively in his over-age year.  His team is also having a strong season as they sit in their spot aiming to chase down South Side and Belfast for one of the first-round bye positions in the playoffs.

Defensive Player of the Week
#1 SEAN MacPHEE (G) - Lynx

For the third straight week, a South Side MacDonald's Excavation / EF MacPhee Lynx goaltender nabbed the defensive player-of-the week award.  He had a stellar game a 2-0 victory over the first-place Belfast Down East Auto Parts Sabres with a 48-save shutout.  He played tremendous all game, especially in the third period when he faced 22 of those shots and turned them all aside.

January 6th - 12th, 2016

Offensive Player of the Week
#12 HARRISON HAYDEN (F) - Metros

Harrison Hayden just played his 5th and 6th game this week with the Sherwood Metros and they were waiting for him to show the offensive skill that made him a top scorer in the PEI Midget AAA league. He exploded Friday night with five straight goals against the Morell Flyers to help the Metros win. Sunday the Metros had a big overtime win against the first place Belfast Sabres and Harrison played a strong game at centre.

Defensive Player of the Week
#31 JORDAN ZEMBER (G) - Lynx

Jordan enjoyed a triumphant return to the league with a shootout victory over the Flames Saturday night to help the South Side MacDonald's Excavation / EF MacPhee Lynx sweep the pivotal weekend back-to-back series with North River. Zember stopped 24 of 26 shots and all three shootout attempts in the victory.

December 30th, 2015 - January 5th, 2016

Offensive Player of the Week
#15 JAKE ARSENAULT (F) - Metros

Jake Arsenault was signed recently by the Metros for his offensive skill. Jake had a great week with six points to help the Metros in two most needed wins. He started the week with two assists in a 5-2 loss to Tignish and the next two games had four goals, three in a 7-6 win against South Side and another one in a 4-2 win against Morell.

Defensive Player of the Week
#1 SEAN MacPHEE (G) - Lynx

Sean came in relief after the first period and helped the South Side MacDonald's Excavation / EF MacPhee Lynx get back into their game and force overtime against Sherwood on Saturday night.  He then gave up just one goal the next night in a win at Tignish.

December 23rd - 29th, 2015

Offensive Player of the Week
#16 MATT MacKINNON (F) - Flyers

Matt was in on all of the Flyers' seven goals in a wild 10-7 loss to the Tignish Perry's Construction Aces on December 23rd.  His production of late has put him among the league's scoring leaders.

Defensive Player of the Week
#29 ZACK GELDERT (G) - Flames

Zack made 46 saves en route to a 6-2 win on the road in Morell.  This was Zack's fifth start with the team, since joining the North River Flames in November.  This is his first year in the league.

December 16th - 22nd, 2015

Offensive Player of the Week
#17 COLTON GALLANT - Aces

Colton led the way with two goals and two assists for the Tignish Perry's Construction Aces in their 6-3 victory on the road over the South Side MacDonald's Excavation / EF MacPhee Lynx. He was also 2-2 in their victory over Morell.

Defensive Player of the Week
#21 CONNOR DILLON (D) - Aces

Connor was moved back on the point Dec. 14th to help strengthen the Aces' blue line.  Since then, Tignish hasn't lost a game.  Surprisingly, Connor has started chipping in offensively with seven points in three games on defense.
