Colby had the game-winner in overtime as the Hawks shocked the Tignish Perry's Construction Aces with a big road win in game one of their quarter-final series. He also had an assist in the Hawks last goal in regulation.

Mitch had a great game in Tignish as he scored once and set up three others including the OT winner. He was a defensman on the league's all-star team earlier this month and as a four-year veteran of the league he played a key leadership role in the Hawks victory in game one. |

#2 DERIAN VESSEY (F) - Falcons | ||||
Derian had a great week and was a key player in all three games. In the first and last games he may not have contributed on the scoreboard but had a very strong game blocking several shots and fore-checking the opponent. In the 7-3 road win in Souris on Sunday night, he was the Falcons' best offensive player with a goal and four assists.

#6 ALEX HUGHES (D) - Falcons | ||||
Alex Hughes had three strong defensive games for the Falcons helping them to a pair of wins including the team's victory in game one of their quarter-finals series against he North River Island Excavators Flames. He added three assists in these three games, and played a lot of minutes against Souris with only four defense and a short bench. Alex played both on the power play and short-handed. The Falcons power play against Souris was 4 for 7 with Alex' good play-making. |

Logan had a huge two games on the weekend, extending his point streak to five games. He scored a hat-trick in the Belfast Down East Auto Parts Sabres win over the North River Island Excavators Flames on Friday night. He has 12 points over the last five games for the Sabres as they push for a first round bye in the playoffs.

Ryan was a mid-season addition on the blueline for the Tignish Perry's Construction Aces and had a strong weekend for his team. He played well defensively, but also contributed offensively in all three victories on the weekend. In 20 games he picked up 18 points so far this season. |

An amazing 8-point performance in a dominant win for the league-leading South Side MacDonald's Excavation / EF MacPhee Lynx solidified Cody as the top scorer in the league. He now has a 12-point lead over Keirsten Steele of the Sabres. The Lynx rookie could be the extra weapon the Lynx need to finally get them a league title.

The Falcons had a great week with two victories. Brodie MacArthur had two great games playing centre for the Falcons. He had two assists in the 4-3 OT win over the first-place South Side MacDonald's Excavation / EF MacPhee Lynx, and a goal and an assist in the win against the Tignish Perry's Construction Aces. Brodie had points on half of the Falcons goals over the weekend. He played two strong games offensively as well as defensively killing timely penalties. .

Chad has been playing very well defensively for the Falcons. This week he also contributed offensively with a goal and two assists. Chad has a great shot from the point and is the Falcons top scoring defence. His speed and strong play on the blue line has helped the Falcons shut down strong offensively strong opponents and surrendered only four goals against over two games. |

Zack had two big games offensively for the Sherwood Falcons. The Falcons managed to get three out of a possible four points on the weekend thanks to Zack's seven-point performance. The Falcons needed those points to stay in fourth place. Zack has played very well recently and helped turn the team around by getting a great start to the New Year.

Connor played his first game of the season Friday night for the Belfast Down East Auto Parts Sabres against the Sherwood Falcons. He had two goals and an assist, and played very well defensively. He moved the puck effectively out of his zone. Connor is in his last season in the league. He only played eight games with the Sabres last season after playing most of the year in Junior B. |

Connor had five points in two tight games. He scored the tying goal in Monday's game in Sherwood on the power-play. This is his first season in the league after playing Junior B in each of the last two seasons. |

Morgan faced a difficult situation, manning the pipes, on a team with a short bench in a road game in Tignish on Friday night. But he turned out to be a pivotal part of the Souris Hawks' surprising 6-2 win. He faced a barrage of 43 shots and turned aside all but two in the convincing win. |
