#3 COLBY MOONEY - Hawks
Colby had the game-winner in overtime as the Hawks shocked the Tignish Perry's Construction Aces with a big road win in game one of their quarter-final series.  He also had an assist in the Hawks last goal in regulation.

Defensive Player of the Week
#9 MITCH POWER (D) - Hawks

Mitch had a great game in Tignish as he scored once and set up three others including the OT winner.  He was a defensman on the league's all-star team earlier this month and as a four-year veteran of the league he played a key leadership role in the Hawks victory in game one.

Feb. 4th - 10th, 2015
Offensive Player of the Week
#2 DERIAN VESSEY (F) - Falcons
Derian had a great week and was a key player in all three games.  In the first and last games he may not have contributed on the scoreboard but had a very strong game blocking several shots and fore-checking the opponent. In the 7-3 road win in Souris on Sunday night, he was the Falcons' best offensive player with a goal and four assists.

Defensive Player of the Week
#6 ALEX HUGHES (D) - Falcons

Alex Hughes had three strong defensive games for the Falcons helping them to a pair of wins including the team's victory in game one of their quarter-finals series against he North River Island Excavators Flames.  He added three assists in these three games, and played a lot of minutes against Souris with only four defense and a short bench.  Alex played both on the power play and short-handed. The Falcons power play against Souris was 4 for 7 with Alex' good play-making.

Offensive Player of the Week
#7 ROB MILLER (F) - Lynx
Highlighted by an eight-point night against the North River Island Excavators Flames, Rob made huge waves offensively for the South Side MacDonald's Excavation / EF MacPhee Lynx.  Last year's leading scorer is having another strong year and has averaged two and a half points per game.

Defensive Player of the Week
#10 BRETT RAMSAY (D) - Aces

Brett has been playing very well in his rookie year with the Tignish Perry's Construction Aces. He is logging big minutes as a defensive defenseman against teams top lines.  During the past week, Brett helped his team complete back-to-back
wins against the regular season champion Lynx while contributing with two assists.

Jan. 21st - 27th, 2015

Offensive Player of the Week
#51 LOGAN AYLWARD - Sabres
Logan had a huge two games on the weekend, extending his point streak to five games.  He scored a hat-trick in the Belfast Down East Auto Parts Sabres win over the North River Island Excavators Flames on Friday night.  He has 12 points over the last five games for the Sabres as they push for a first round bye in the playoffs.

Defensive Player of the Week
#27 RYAN MacNEILL (D) - Aces

Ryan was a mid-season addition on the blueline for the Tignish Perry's Construction Aces and had a strong weekend for his team.  He played well defensively, but also contributed offensively in all three victories on the weekend.  In 20 games he picked up 18 points so far this season.

Offensive Player of the Week
#10 CODY MILLER (F) - Lynx
An amazing 8-point performance in a dominant win for the league-leading South Side MacDonald's Excavation / EF MacPhee Lynx solidified Cody as the top scorer in the league.  He now has a 12-point lead over Keirsten Steele of the Sabres.  The Lynx rookie could be the extra weapon the Lynx need to finally get them a league title.

Defensive Player of the Week
#1 SEAN MacPHEE (G) - Lynx

Sean overtook teammate John Miller as the league's top goalie in GAA with his second shutout of the season.  Also a rookie, Sean will be looked to as a key player in the Lynx run for a league title.

Jan. 7th - 13th, 2015

Offensive Player of the Week
#4 BRODIE MacARTHUR (F) - Falcons
The Falcons had a great week with two victories. Brodie MacArthur had two great games playing centre for the Falcons. He had two assists in the 4-3 OT win over the first-place South Side MacDonald's Excavation / EF MacPhee Lynx, and a goal and an assist in the win against the Tignish Perry's Construction Aces. Brodie had points on half of the Falcons goals over the weekend. He played two strong games offensively as well as defensively killing timely penalties. .

Defensive Player of the Week
#16 CHAD WILSON (D) - Falcons

Chad has been playing very well defensively for the Falcons. This week he also contributed offensively with a goal and two assists. Chad has a great shot from the point and is the Falcons top scoring defence. His speed and strong play on the blue line has helped the Falcons shut down strong offensively strong opponents and surrendered only four goals against over two games.

Offensive Player of the Week
#14 ZACK MacDONALD (F) - Falcons
Zack had two big games offensively for the Sherwood Falcons. The Falcons managed to get three out of a possible four points on the weekend thanks to Zack's seven-point performance. The Falcons needed those points to stay in fourth place. Zack has played very well recently and helped turn the team around by getting a great start to the New Year.

#29 BEN LADNER (G) - Sabres

Ben appeared in both games of the Belfast Down East Auto Parts Sabres' home-and-home series with the first-place South Side MacDonald's Excavation / EF MacPhee Lynx.  He had solid performances in both games including a huge road win in Crapaud.  He has had a busy year, with 11 games played and another four as an affiliate player in the Junior B league.

Offensive Player of the Week
#11 NOLAN IRVING (F) - Sabres
Nolan had a big weekend offensively for the Belfast Down East Auto Parts Sabres tallying five points in two big wins, extending their win-streak to seven games. With a home and home against the Southside MacDonald's Excavation / EF MacPhee Lynx this coming weekend, the Sabres' streak will be well tested.

Defensive Player of the Week
#1 SEAN MacPHEE (G) - Lynx

The Lynx rookie goaltender put up a 37-save shutout, his first in the league, in a game where his play frustrated the Sherwood Falcons.  Sean has been very steady this year and is third in the league in wins (7) and goals against average (2.53).

Dec. 17 - 23rd, 2014

Offensive Player of the Week
#9 JOEL MacISAAC (F) - Lynx
Joel showed last year that he is one of the top scorers in the league and helped his South Side MacDonald's Excavation / EF MacPhee Lynx defeat the Tignish Perry's Construction Aces this weekend, despite the Lynx having a short bench.  He also had two points the next night in a victory over Sherwood.

#3 CONNOR LEA (D) - Sabres

Connor played his first game of the season Friday night for the Belfast Down East Auto Parts Sabres against the Sherwood Falcons. He had two goals and an assist, and played very well defensively.  He moved the puck effectively out of his zone.  Connor is in his last season in the league.  He only played eight games with the Sabres last season after playing most of the year in Junior B.

Dec. 10 - 16th, 2014

Offensive Player of the Week
#21 CONNOR DILLON (F) - Aces

Connor had five points in two tight games.  He scored the tying goal in Monday's game in Sherwood on the power-play.  The Tignish Perry's Construction Aces would score another one late to pick up the win.  He also assisted on all four of the Aces goals on Friday night.  This is his first season in the league after playing Junior B in each of the last two seasons.

#29 BEN LADNER (G) - Sabres

Ben had a 32-save shutout against the North River Island Excavators Flames this week.  He has had two very good games against the Flames this season as he has only given up one goal in two meetings.  The Belfast Down East Auto Parts Sabres have been hot as of late and are riding a 4-game winning streak.

#5 TYLER MacGILLIVRAY - Sabres

Tyler had a great offensive weekend. He is a rookie that is standing out and helping add some secondary offence. He had a rough start but is really finding his groove.  His two 3-point nights helped the Sabres earn two convincing wins on the weekend.

#29 NOLAN COMPTON (G) - Sabres

Nolan is a rookie who has been standing on his head as of late. He earned both wins on the weekend and only gave up four goals in two starts. He made some huge stops for the team.

Nov. 26th - Dec. 2nd, 2014

Offensive Player of the Week
#15 SAWYER MAYNE (F) - Lynx

Sawyer more than doubled his goals total for the season in one night as he recorded a hat-trick on Friday night in the South Side MacDonald's Excavation / EF MacPhee Lynx' victory over the Belfast Down East Auto Parts Sabres.  Sawyer, not known for his offensive output broke out this week.

Defensive Player of the Week
#33 MORGAN FAY (G) - Hawks

Morgan faced a difficult situation, manning the pipes, on a team with a short bench in a road game in Tignish on Friday night.  But he turned out to be a pivotal part of the Souris Hawks' surprising 6-2 win.  He faced a barrage of 43 shots and turned aside all but two in the convincing win.
